The new water efficiency measures for WA will encourage participation in the Waterwise Business Program. By 1 July 2009 businesses state-wide who consume above 20,000 kL of water per meter reading year will be required to join the Water Corporation's Waterwise Businesses Program. This involves undertaking a one hour water management assessment annually with the Water Corporation and developing a water efficiency management plan.

A Water Efficiency Management Plan (WEMP) template and guidelines have been developed to assist businesses.
