Waterwise Ways for WA
The new water efficiency measures introduced to assist Western Australia to adopt more sustainable water use behaviours.
Waterwise School
A Government or non-government school that has joined the Waterwise Schools Program run by the Water Corporation. The program is a long-term, whole-of-school approach to water and education and complements the Curriculum Framework across all major learning areas, especially Society and Environment.
Waterwise Business
Any business that consumes over 20,000 kL annually and is part of the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Business Program. The program commits to improving water efficiency in everyday business practices.
IWSS
Integrated Water Supply Scheme refers to all water pumped to homes and businesses for drinking, household and garden use.
Bore Owners
Residents who have had groundwater bores installed specifically for maintaining gardens.
Zone 1
All communities in Western Australia south of Kalbarri and Kalgoorlie defined by one east-west boundary line on a map of Western Australia. Zone 1 will be subject to a two day per week watering roster.
Zone 2
All communities in Western Australia north of Kalbarri and Kalgoorlie defined by one east-west boundary line on a map of Western Australia. Zone 2 will be subject to an alternate day watering roster.
Exemptions
Any residential or business customer who is exempt from the new water efficiency measures i.e. establishing a new garden.
